What we do
Most homes in Omaha have one or two torsion springs on a shaft above the door. When one snaps, the door turns into dead weight. We match the new spring to your door’s weight and height, wind it to the right number of turns and test the balance by hand before the opener ever runs.
Springs matched by wire size, length and inside diameter
Both springs replaced on two-spring doors when the other is worn, quoted first
Rollers, cables and bearings checked while we’re up there
3-year parts and labor warranty on every spring
High-cycle springs rated for 25,000 cycles are available for doors that run more than four times a day.
Common questions
Should I replace both springs?
On a two-spring door the second spring usually fails within months of the first. We tell you its condition and the price for both ($329) before we start, and you decide.
Can I open the door to get my car out?
Please don’t. Without the spring the door can weigh 150 to 250 pounds and the opener can strip its gear. Leave it down and book the first window.
How long do springs last?
Standard springs are rated for about 10,000 cycles, roughly seven to ten years for most families. High-cycle springs last about twice as long.
